The Institute for the Protection of Italian Manifacturers was born as on initiative of the Association of the High Fashion Manufacturing Entrepreneurs. Its goal is to protect the authentic crafsmanship tradition that is worldwide known.
In order to enhance the value of Italian productions, the Institute has developed a certification system called “100% authentic Italian quality MADE IN ITALY CERTIFICATION”. This project guarantees to the consumer the unique quality and the Italian origin of goods and helps manufacturers to distinguish their productions from those who have a doubtful origin.
Thanks to the express request of some luxury handicrafs firms, the Institute has enriched its Made in Italy regulation system by introducing the “Handmade in Italy” distinguishing sign.

TO MANUFACTURERS

CERTIFICATION

The firm who certifies its production will be enrolled in the National Register of Italian Manufacturers. In addition the company will be able to guarantee and to communicate to its customers the undoubtful Italian origin of its goods.

THE COMPANIES THAT WANT TO CERTIFY THEIR PRODUCTIONS MUST PRESENT THE FOLLOWING REFERENCES:

One's own trademark
totally manufactured in Italy
use of Italian semifinished goods
made with first choice materials
created with exclusive and unique models
made by using the traditional crafmanship Italian manufacturing process

TO RETAILERS

CERTIFICATION

For some years of time goods totally manufactured in Italy are provided with a certification.
It guarantees high quality standards and the 100% made in Italy production.
The Handmade in Italy certification guarantees and chances the added value of the handmade manufacturing process.
The Institute only guarantees the goods presenting the 100% handmade in Italy distinguishing sign.

DISTINGUISHING SIGNS

The most imprtant identifying sign is The distinguishing sign is always followed by the code number and the anti-imitation brand.

The is a brand that stands for the enrollment of the Italian trademark at the
National Register of Italian Manufacturers. It is set next to or in the place of the ® that stands for Registered.
The retailer can get the shop window tags, price labels and stickers from his certified supplier. This request will not involve further costs.

Each retailer can check the authentic Italian origin of a company's trademark or of a certified product by visiting the website www.madeinitaly.org
This testing process can be carried out by dialing the code number placed on the tag or label of the product.

TO CONSUMERS

CERTIFICATION

In order to guarantee to the consumer the authentic quality and origin of an Italian product, the Institute has introduced the 100% HANDMADE IN ITALY certification.
All the goods presenting “the Handmade in Italy 100% Certificate” distinguishing sign can be considered an authentic Italian product.
Only retailers who have “the Handmade in Italy 100% certificate” shop window tags, price labels and stickers are allowed to sell the real Italian product.
