100% Made in Italy Certification

Here is a snapshot of how the 100% Made in Italy Certification works.

The ITPI has developed a certification system whereby manufacturers can mark their creation distinguishing them from those of uncertain Italian origin. Thus, consumers are given assurance on origin and quality.

INSECTIONS
The certification process begins with a voluntary acceptance by the Manufacturer of the Regulations of System IT01 and with a Certification Request.
The products to be marketed with the 100% Made in Italy marks must meet the following criteria:

  • entirely made in Italy;
  • made using parts entirely made in Italy;
  • made with first choice and high quality materials;
  • created according to the Manufacturer's exclusive design;
  • made following the Italian manufacturing tradition.
Moreover they must comply to HEALTH AND SAFETY regulations.

Within a month, an inspector from the ITPI will personally check on site that the above-mentioned criteria are actually met and will proceed to complete the examination by acquiring the necessary documentation and filling the policy forms.

By the end of the following month the inspector will inform the Manufacturer whether the certification has been confirmed. The manufacturer will then be included in the National Registry of Italian Manufacturers.

PRODUCT'S TRACEABILITY
The ITPI has introduced a traceability system for the "100% Made in Italy" certified products. The manufacturer must utilize the certification marks provided by the ITPI. These feature a progressive number and an anti-forgery holographic mark. The 100% Made in Italy mark can be used on packaging, headed paper, displayed at exhibition fairs and used for marketing communications on media and the internet.

For over ten years the ITPI has given the possibility to consumers and retailers to check the true origin of the Italian products.
